Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)

UTAP (Union Training Assistance Programme) Funding is a training benefit for NTUC Members, designed to help defray the cost of training and encourage skills upgrading and re-skilling. The NTUC Starter Membership supports youths aged 18 to 25 by giving them a head start in the workforce as they transition from school to work.

NTUC Members can enjoy 50% support on unfunded* course fees, capped at $250 per year. NTUC Members aged 40 and above are eligible for enhanced support of up to $500 per year. Members can enjoy 50% support on unfunded course fees, capped at $200 per year. Unfunded course fees refer to the remaining course fees payable after applicable government subsidies.

Eligibility Criteria

You can apply for UTAP as long as you are an NTUC member. To be eligible for UTAP, all you need to do is meet the following conditions:

  1. Paid-up union membership before course commencement, throughout the whole course duration and at the point of claim, only an upfront deduction is allowed before course commencement
  2. Course by training provider must be supported under UTAP, and training must commence within the supported period
  3. UTAP funding is only applicable on the course fee not funded through company sponsorship or other types of funding
  4. The unfunded course fee must be S$20.00 and above
  5. You must have achieved a minimum of 75% attendance for each application and sat for all prescribed examination(s), if any

How to Claim?

For examinations and training programmes under non-upfront UTAP, customers are advised to log in to the NTUC portal (click here) and apply for UTAP claim within 6 months after the course end (last day of the course).  Late applications will be rejected*.
